 This manual covers all 221 machines but  not the 222  freearm models

Whilst none of the work covered requires the use of any special Singer tools, some of the jobs  may be beyond the scope of the average owner.

Please keep electrical safety uppermost in your mind and do not attempt re-wiring unless you are competent to do so.

 Featherweights can now be over 60 years old and many are potentially dangerous from an electrical viewpoint.  I would suggest that an owner satisfies him/herself as to the electrical safety of a machine before doing any work, or even simply sewing.
